Caly Rally 2004

A message from the Camp Chief, before the Rally

Following the success of the 2003 Caledonian Rally, held at Tollie Brahan Scout Campsite for the first time, I am delighted that we will again be fortunate enough to sample the hospitality of both Ross & Sutherland Area and Brahan Estates for this year’s Rally.

Plans are well under way for what is hoped to be a bigger event with activities being planned for 280 young people. I hope that you are able to live up to the challenge I set during our “adios rally” last October, which was for each Scout or Guide taking part to bring along a fellow Guide or Scout from their Group or better still the group next door this year.

The team have deliberated over your constructive feedback and are introducing measures to eliminate the frustrations experienced on occasions last time. We aim to achieve this primarily by reducing the muster group sizes, increasing the number of activities and altering the timings to suit the activity. All this will stretch the existing team, which is why we are introducing Staff Opportunities creating an excellent opportunity for Scout Network members and unattached section leaders to support this unique event.

During the weeks leading up to the Rally the team intend to put regular updates into these WebPages which we hope you will find useful in planning your trip north.

I look forward to meeting those of you who joined us in 2003 again and extend a warm welcome to those thinking about coming to Tollie Brahan for the 2004 Caledonian Rally

Yours in Scouting,
Andy Holmes,
Camp Chief
