Caly Rally 2004

Message from the Camp Chief

Hello Folks,

Since the Rally I have had the pleasure of meeting up with some of you at other events, and have been delighted to share with you some of the good memories which you have taken away from what was our first Caledonian rally to be held at Tollie Scout Camp,

Our new venue for 2003, offered the Rally team several logistical challenges to overcome, however with endless possibilities for new opportunities to create an marvellous event. I personally think they did extremely well.

Well what else can I say! We had the weather hold out for us, even although it was cold; the programme contained plenty of old and new activities around the camp, which was of course all planned by the Team incorporating your feed back from previous years rallies . They even managed to keep the snow away till the Monday; pity the service team hadn't quite managed to clear away all the kit first though.

However the one thing that sticks in my mind was the friendship and goodwill, which shone throughout this years Rally with everyone in camp, be it Scouts, Explorers, Guides and Rangers, all working and playing together in harmony to make this years Cally Rally one to remember, which is a rare thing sometimes these days.

I hope that you will be pleased to hear that the team are about to start the process of planning for Cally Rally 2004. If you were with us this year please tell us what your likes and dislikes were, using the feedback section of the website.

During the closing moments of this years event I said, "If you really enjoyed the Rally go home and tell another Scout, Guide in your group or even better tell the group in the next village what they missed, and invite them to join us next year".

We meant this sincerely we would like to see the Cally Rally family grow with your help and look forward to seeing you all again next year.

Yours in Scouting
